Festival of Trees

Great news!  The Society for Wilderness Stewardship was selected by the Fraser Valley Lion's Club to participate in the 2018 Festival of Trees.  As a participant, we will be gifted a tree and tree stand by the Lion's Club.  On Friday, November 30, we will decorate our tree (we are going with a woodland, wilderness-inspired theme) and then people will bid on it as part of a silent auction.  This will serve to both spread the word about SWS and broaden the wilderness stewardship community, as well as operate as our year-end fundraiser.
We need your help!  We need funds to purchase ornaments, so please help us reach our goal of $500 by donating $10 below.  Funds raised from the Festival of Trees will be used to support current programming - the Wilderness Fellows Program, the National Wilderness Workshop, and Wilderness Ranger Academies - as well as to expand and diversify the Community of Practice, and link towns and communities to preserving Wilderness Character (no link yet, this program is in development).  In 2019, we will be growing our staffing to create more capacity for these important projects and to continue to work with wilderness managers and constituents to address emerging issues and care for wilderness.
